Douglas Caraballo, Chief Executive Officer
Douglas Caraballo is President and Chief Executive Officer of e3a3 International, Inc. He also sits on the Board of Directors, where he has played a key role in strengthening e3a3′s position in Chile and in setting the groundwork that has positioned e3a3 for strategic growth and long-term stability. Mr. Caraballo has overseen e3a3′s initial project work and is the company’s founder and visionary.
Mr. Caraballo is an entrepreneur who began his career at PaineWebber (now UBS) in 1992 as a Marketing Specialist for Capital Markets, and was appointed to lead marketing efforts for PaineWebber’s Institutional Sales and Capital Markets division. Later in his career, he served in senior leadership roles at companies such as MCI (Avantel), Globix and Hewlett Packard, where he grew divisions to over $600 million worldwide. Mr. Caraballo has consistently exhibited an ability to produce investment strategies that are both imaginative and highly lucrative. Over the past 14 years, he has brought a high degree of business acumen and creativity for modeling unique investments throughout Central America and the Middle East. Mr. Caraballo attended University of Virginia and Liberty University, where he studied Theology and BS in Business Economics, and was on a full NCAA Division 1 Football Scholarship. Mr. Caraballo has served as an advisor to the Center for Export and Foreign Investment of the Dominican Republic (CEI-RD) under Eddy Martinez, Secretary of State and is an advisor to SFX Baseball, one of the leading sports management firms in the US.
Robert Fitts, Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Fitts has twenty years of experience building, growing, and integrating businesses, both domestically and abroad, for organizations such as Goldman Sachs & Co. and Prudential Financial. Mr. Fitts’s career experiences include integrating a large US commercial mortgage finance company and a German investment management organization, and reorganizing the US operations of one of the world’s largest real estate investment management companies. Mr. Fitts has participated in over 60 debt and equity transactions comprising of approximately $5 billion in transactions value.
Additionally, Mr. Fitts has significant operations experience, which includes overseeing full operations for some of the world’s most important conglomerates providing strategic administrative activities over a 23 year career.
Mr. Fitts is a graduate of Washington and Lee University and received his MBA from George Washington University. Additionally, Mr. Fitts has completed The Wharton School’s Mergers and Acquisitions Program and the Center for Creative Leadership’s Leadership Development Program.
Wayne P. Weddington, SVP of Trading
Mr Weddington is responsible for managing and directing trade strategies for e3a3 International, including hedging strategies that offset major price fluctuations in the metals market. Mr. Weddington also advises and transacts direct commodity investments opportunistically on behalf of e3a3.
Prior to e3a3, Mr Weddington was Senior Trader for Caxton Associates LLC, a $15 billion multi-manager hedge fund. At Caxton Mr. Weddington was head of a group responsible for trading quantitative, market neutral long/short global equity strategies in the US, UK, France and Germany.
Prior to Caxton, Mr. Weddington was a senior trader at various other major hedge funds including Jemmco Capital, InterPacific Capital and independently as founder of WIES International Equity. Mr Weddington started his career at Morgan Stanley & Co. Inc. as a banker in the transaction development group, a multi-discipline team intended to transact clients’ capital in emergent opportunistic investment opportunities, an early precursor to the ‘event driven’ hedge fund strategy.
Mr. Weddington is a published author (Hachette Book Group, 2009) of “Do it Yourself Hedge Funds,” a guide to small individual investors to employ hedge fund techniques in their own portfolios. The book has reached #8 on Amazon’s Investments/Futures category. Mr. Weddington explains the basics of hedge funds in layman’s terms, defines the words investors need to know, and lays out the necessary steps for investing in hedge fund techniques.
Mr Weddington earned an MBA at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business (Finance, Entrepreneurship) and a BA from Columbia College of Columbia University (Biology).
